Winter Wear

Sweater: Express sold out similar style I like (on sale!)/  Leggings: Zella \ Boots: Stuart Weitzman Sunglasses: Loving this option and this option /  Beanie   On sale for under $10!

Kicking off 2018 in some brights in the snow! When I was upstate visiting family it was so special to see just how much snow my hometown received, it was a white Christmas! Fast forward a few weeks and by mid January I am ready for a warm weather escape and dreaming of palm trees. I have been a little more playful with mixing prints and I've had this beanie for a while and it's an easy way to make a statement with having everything else simple and understated. It's been on sale for quite some time too!

I love this slouchy and over size sweater since it's long enough for leggings and can be styled off the shoulder. I loved the color so much I even got it in a cardigan style- perfect for a pop of color during the winter blues and to wear in February with Valentine's Day upon us next month. Express is constantly having sales and my go to for sweaters and denim lately. I also love the online size option for tall pants, since I'm 5'10" I've always struggled to find pants that fit and are long enough! Theirs are at great price points and have become a better quality. I have some with embellishments, frayed hems, and the black skinny pants I've been over wearing to work too.

There's tons of scarves on sale and I love the bright plaid, I picked mine up from TJ Maxx and it's super warm. I like the blanket scarves because theyโ€™re so versatile when styling and perfect for traveling with. I always bring one on the airplane.

Hope everyone is having a healthy and productive start to 2018!

Apples, Pumpkins, & Fall's Country Vibes

This season New York has been warmer than usual for early fall so I'm slowly transitioning into layers and easy denim for a relaxed weekend look outdoors. Blanket scarves are a must for chilly days ahead. Plaid prints, distressed denim, and laid back booties or comfortable slip ons will update a look without being over stated. Cheers to fall and bringing this country look to the city girl!

As an original upstate New York girl I surprisingly never got used to our cold winters with below negative temperatures. Though after hot summers I always looked forward to the end of September and October for crisp fresh air that fall brought forward with the warmest of foliage in the trees. I'm a girl of my word so I try my best to hold true to traditions, especially around the seasons. This fall I'm continuing a longstanding tradition of apple picking, wine tasting, and pumpkin picking both outside the city and back upstate in hometown land.

Upstate New York and the finger lakes region is home to some of the best vineyards and when living back in Buffalo I had one of my first dates at an orchard. Fast forward 6 years and we've kept it a ritual to apple pick our transition into fall. Though much has changed since our move to New York we found a way to keep our outdoors festivities alive. We love heading out of the hustle and bustle of the city to see the sites of fall and get out into the fields to apple pick and eat way too many cider doughnuts (who can resist?!) We look forward to a good fall festival at an orchard we visit once a year.

I can't help but get giddy over the idea of baking pies, fall drinks, and seasonal scented candles. Letโ€™s not forget oversized sweaters, boots, and the scarves!
