Houndstooth Blazer Outfit

IMG_2904.jpg

It seems like winter was never ending and boy am I ready for spring! As I’m anxiously awaiting a time where I can fold my sweaters away into storage I’ve been grabbing some end of winter sale items that work for this in between season. I found this blazer marked down… then discovered it’s a dress. Ha! Only on my 5’11” figure! I kept it to have it as a longer blazer perfect for this tall girl and pair it with pants or thicker leggings. Though it does look darling with OTK boots or ankle booties for a day at the office to a night out.

I’m also seeing a lot of the plaid and 90’s feel in the spring forecast so figured this could be the perfect transitional piece as it’s not too heavy. Be sure to check out the widget below for some other tailored blazers that would be perfect with a simple white cami or t shirt underneath them. I’ve loved also pairing these with some distressed lighter wash denim in a cigarette fit like this pair.

His and Hers Holiday Pajamas

Once the weather starts to get cold and the snow starts to fall it's time for cozy PJs  snuggled up by the tree for most of my December. Growing up in super cold Buffalo I was always freezing cold and still don't love it, but if I can find a way to feel as comfortable and warm as possible I'll brave it.

There's so so many cute and funny PJs available right now for the whole family and many styles on sale, which is perfect especially since the more holiday themed ones you'll only get to wear throughout December. I'm sharing some of my favorite ideas and have already shopped a ton of these for my family since they're perfect for the winter season and always appreciated.  I'm also sharing some slipper styles that could pair well with any of these styles.  My thermal PJs are always easy to throw on and come as a set from Victoria's Secret.  I've found so many more retailers carrying this type now along with sweatshirts that can be paired with any bottoms. Old Navy & Macy's have some great sale styles along with Nordstrom.

Apples, Pumpkins, & Fall's Country Vibes

This season New York has been warmer than usual for early fall so I'm slowly transitioning into layers and easy denim for a relaxed weekend look outdoors. Blanket scarves are a must for chilly days ahead. Plaid prints, distressed denim, and laid back booties or comfortable slip ons will update a look without being over stated. Cheers to fall and bringing this country look to the city girl!

As an original upstate New York girl I surprisingly never got used to our cold winters with below negative temperatures. Though after hot summers I always looked forward to the end of September and October for crisp fresh air that fall brought forward with the warmest of foliage in the trees. I'm a girl of my word so I try my best to hold true to traditions, especially around the seasons. This fall I'm continuing a longstanding tradition of apple picking, wine tasting, and pumpkin picking both outside the city and back upstate in hometown land.

Upstate New York and the finger lakes region is home to some of the best vineyards and when living back in Buffalo I had one of my first dates at an orchard. Fast forward 6 years and we've kept it a ritual to apple pick our transition into fall. Though much has changed since our move to New York we found a way to keep our outdoors festivities alive. We love heading out of the hustle and bustle of the city to see the sites of fall and get out into the fields to apple pick and eat way too many cider doughnuts (who can resist?!) We look forward to a good fall festival at an orchard we visit once a year.

I can't help but get giddy over the idea of baking pies, fall drinks, and seasonal scented candles. Let’s not forget oversized sweaters, boots, and the scarves!
